Reimagining Digital Identity Practices Among Karen Refugees in Thailand

This event marks the Bangkok launch of the Reimagining Digital Identity Practices Among Karen Refugees in Thailand exhibition featuring drawings and poems by Karen refugees from the Thai–Myanmar border. Through their artwork, Karen co-creators reimagine what a fair and inclusive digital identity system could look like from their own perspectives. The exhibition at Thammasat Museum of Anthropology is accompanied by a roundtable discussion bringing together academic and practitioner voices to reflect on the research project and exhibition as method.

The exhibition explores how Karen refugees in Thailand envision and critique digital identity systems through their own artistic expression. The works provide personal and collective insights into identity, recognition, and justice in contexts of displacement.
